Merek Inc. comes from “Mer Ek”, the Ancient Egyptian word for “Love”. Founded by a mother and her daughters, all with deep roots to Egypt, Merek Inc. imports unique handmade products from some of the poorest neighborhoods in Egypt.

In addition, many of our product offerings come from a group that is actively working in the waste collector community to promote recycling as well as the empowerment of women and children in Egypt. The products these Artisans create have literally been transformed from trash to treasure.

We are constantly searching for unique Egyptian products made by other local Artisans. Our mission is to shine a light on the people and country of Egypt through these beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces.
